UPDATE (5/21): Tennis courts have now opened for singles play. 

Playa Vista parks will reopen Saturday, May 9th after several weeks of being closed due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

  • Playa Vista parks will reopen, including the Cabora Road pathway along the bottom of the LMU bluff
  • Face coverings must be worn
  • Dog parks, sports fields/courts and community spaces will not reopen

Social distancing guidelines are being enforced in the parks including wearing face coverings.

Los Angeles County announced the reopening of parks. PVPAL made the official decision to reopen Playa Vista parks after consulting city officials.

Some parks are not reopening to encourage social distancing:

  • Dog parks like the Bluff Creek Dog Park and Oberrieder Park on the south side of Playa Vista will not reopen
  • Sports facilities are also remaining closed including Volleyball Park, Bluff Creek Fields, The Sports Park and basketball courts

Effective Saturday, May 9th, in accordance with Los Angeles County guidelines, Playa Vista will open the Cabora Road trail for biking, walking and jogging. Per LA County, face coverings must be worn when using trails. Dog leashes are mandatory. Playa Vista parks will also open with use restrictions. All parties must adhere to Social Distancing guidelines and large gatherings of any kind are not permitted, including group sports/classes. Playing catch, throwing a frisbee, family picnics and relaxing in grassy areas may now resume. All community rooms, gyms, pools, sports parks/facilities and dog parks remain closed until further notice.
